The Digital Chief
Invitation only

The Collective

A private network of senior digital leaders who shape our research, pressure-test our analysis and tell us when we are wrong. It is the reason our evidence is worth grading.

+
Founding members are announced at launch. These are placeholder illustrations, not members.

The network

Capped, cross-sector and deliberately senior. Every seat is filled by invitation, and every member carries operating accountability for digital revenue somewhere real.

Placeholder illustrations. Founding members are named at launch.

How it works

01
Why the Collective exists
To put real operating experience behind the journalism. Members share what is actually happening inside their organisations, which is the difference between reporting a vendor claim and testing it.
02
How members contribute
One meaningful contribution a quarter — a comment on a story, a survey response, a panel, a podcast or a roundtable. Deliberately light. Senior people do not have spare time.
03
What members receive
Early access to research before it publishes, invitations to closed-door sessions, attribution where they want it, and a peer group that is genuinely hard to assemble.

The Collective Pulse

The Pulse is our standing research instrument: a short, recurring survey of the Collective on a single question that matters that quarter. Four a year. Results are published with the methodology, the sample size and the date attached — and where the sample is too small to carry a conclusion, we say that instead of rounding it up.

No Pulse has run yet. The first goes out after launch, and the results will appear here with their evidence grade like everything else we publish.

What we ask of members

Candour. The value is in what people will say off the record. Sessions run under the Chatham House rule unless a member agrees otherwise.
Disclosure. Members declare material vendor, employer and commercial interests when they bear on what they are saying.
Attribution on their terms. Nothing said in a private session becomes a public quotation without explicit permission. That rule is written into our community guidelines.

Who we are looking for

Chief Digital Officers, Digital Directors, Heads of Digital and the equivalent — people who carry a number and own more than one channel. Membership is by invitation, and it is capped, because a group that everyone can join is not a group worth being in.
