What changed, when it changed, and how far we can stand behind it. Every story carries an evidence tier and lists the sources it rests on.
News is the fastest thing we publish and therefore the most disciplined. A story lands here when something has verifiably changed — a platform ships a feature, a regulator issues guidance, a company files something, a dataset is released. Not when a vendor announces an intention, and not when a competitor writes a headline we would like to match.
What lands here
Product and platform changes that alter how digital marketing actually works. Regulatory and enforcement activity from the ICO, the EDPB, the CMA and the ASA. Published research and datasets worth knowing about. Material moves by the businesses our thirteen desks track.
What does not land here: funding rounds with no operational consequence, awards, rebrands, and vendor press releases restated as fact.
How to read a story
Every piece opens with its evidence tier, so you know what you are getting before you read a word of it. The tier describes the strength of the sourcing, not our confidence in our own opinion.
Corrections
We will get things wrong. When we do, the correction is made promptly and logged in public rather than edited away. The full policy and the log are on the corrections page, and the sourcing rules sit in our editorial standards.
Before the first issue
The Digital Chief publishes its first issue on Monday 19 October 2026. Until then this section is open but empty — we would rather show you nothing than fill it with material we cannot stand behind.
